Customized rehabilitation
Vestibular exercises are vital to improve the compensation of the brain in recovering from disturbances in the balance system. It has been scientifically proven that the earlier vestibular rehabilitation is started the better is the final outcome for the patient.

We wanted to combine medicine with technology and engineering to get better results. We understood that there was a limitation to how much you can do in a conventional way. We wanted to take it ahead by adding technology to it.

Dr Anita Bhandari's Vertigo and Ear Clinic is among the very few centres around the world where exercise programmes are customized to the requirements of each patient. Our rehabilitation programmes are designed using various platforms, varied surfaces, trampoline, exercise balls, simulated games and virtual reality experiences to give an immersive experience to the patient.

The exercises are aimed at improving

  • gaze stabilization
  • desensitization to conditions which aggravate imbalance
  • habituation to stimulating positions
  • improvement of postural stability.

We focus on improving stabilization of centre of gravity and designing rehabilitation programmes to retrain the brain to correctly interpret abnormal signals and thus helping in stabilizing the patient. We also do particle repositioning manoeuvres for patients of BPPV like Epley’s Barbecue and Semont’s maneuver for all three semi-circular canals.
